Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Reports To: Director of HR Department.
Prepared By/Date: Human Resources June 2014

SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing journal entries, detailed reports, and account reconciliations. This position will require regular communication with our parent company, AQuaTica Drilling Inc. HQ in Calgary Head Office.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations
• Prepare reports detailing monthly expense by department
• Analyze total Corporate expenses including comparisons to forecasted results and trended results
• Assist Accounting Supervisor in preparing Corporate forecast
• Ad Hoc analyses as needed
• Special projects as required
• Meet accuracy and productivity goals
• Attend/complete all required trainings
• Manage time effectively; prioritize and make good business judgments and decisions in relationship to efficiency, effectiveness
• Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, including time management, required
o Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers (including clients, vendors, sales, engineers, and management) through all media (in person, written, electronic -- email, skype, and via telephone)
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
• Background and credit screening may be required

• Excellent data analysis skills, and ability to synthesize and comprehend large quantities of data
• You must be excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome
o Highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets in particular

• Must be able to sit at a desk and use a computer and phone for long periods of time each day
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus

• Understanding of terminology and ability to share and communicate effectively within the group
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks resulting in consistent productivity
• Dependable and punctual
