A leading global financial services firm is looking for an Accounting Policy Director. This role encompasses responsibility for the development and implementation of accounting and financial statement disclosure policies for the Funds.

Job Description

As the Accounting Policy Director, you will work on:

• Evaluation and determination of the Funds’ accounting policies in connection with new accounting pronouncements, new fund launches, new instrument approvals and other accounting related issues that arise

• Documentation of accounting policies and position papers and maintenance of a centralized accounting policy inventory across all Funds

• Leading efforts to implement accounting policies across all Funds and tracking/maintenance of operational accounting procedures (e.g., materiality analyses)

• Evaluating Fund portfolios, in conjunction with Fund Assistant Treasurers and Managers, to determine whether changes require evaluation of current accounting policies

• Tracking and analysis of proposed accounting pronouncements and their impact to the Funds to support the participation in industry working groups and forums on accounting policy related matters

• Development and update of the Funds’ financial statement disclosures and coordination with Fund Assistant Treasurers and Managers to implement across all Funds

• Maintenance of disclosure inventory and change control procedures to ensure quality and consistency of disclosures across all Funds

• Management of governance, evaluation and approval of all new instruments for the Funds

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Big 4 or public/private accounting experience

• Strong technical accounting disclosure knowledge specific to Funds (e.g., U.S. GAAP, investment company specific requirements)

• Knowledge and experience with accounting/disclosures for complex instrument types (e.g., derivatives and structured products)
