Title: Assoc Sec Proc Analyst 2 - Staff Accountant- PE Fund Srvs
Location: NY-New York
Overview: The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing accounting services for clients including preparing and processing transactions and financial reports. Additionally, provides information and documentation to the operations staff and analyzes data processed to our proprietary investment software. The Accountant provides services with respect to complex fund transactions. The performance of this work requires analysis of partnership agreements and sound judgment regarding proper application of accounting rules to complex transactions. The Staff Accountant regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment about financial matters of significance to Citi and its clients.
Job Description: Client Management
. Handle Client Requests, Confirmations
. Prepare support documentation
. Subscription Documents, Update master documents, Update data base
. Adhere to timely deliverables of client data provided by management
. Prepare client open items list Cash Recording and Reconciliation (Daily/Weekly)
. Prepare or review: Bank statements and type of transaction and appropriate journal entries
. Approve cash activity to be updated in the system
. Enter Journal Entries into Investment Caf Work Papers
. Prepare or review: Work Paper Files including Binder, Print & Correct supporting work papers, QC checklist, Fund Highlight Memo, Financial Highlight Calculation, General Ledger and Trial Balance, Reconcile & reference work papers with Trial Balance, Open items list Investment Activity Recording and Reconciling
. Draft list of questions to ask the client
. Set up investment in Investment Module of Investment Caf
. Assist in preparing work papers
. Collect underlying investment information
. Input investment activity into IC (Investment Module)
. Enter all Mark to Market Changes in Investment Caf (system will determine total Change in Unrealized Appreciation/Depreciation (APP/DEP))
. Print View Position Report to Valid Mark to Market Entries Capital Call / Distribution
. Run the capital call tables and correctly conduct the allocations
. Perform Quality Control
. Draft and merge capital call and distribution letters
. Download merge information to excel (Contact information, allocations, other)
. Test/review the data
. Organize the mailing process (provide appropriate information (letters & Data), establish timing, review drafts, coordinating client feedback, final review of end product (letters and envelopes)
Requirements:
. Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
. 0-2 years experience in accounting (preferably public accounting and/or experience in the financial services sector)
. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
. Ability to multitask
. Must have knowledge of general accounting and reconciliation practices and procedures
. Must understand: Cash recording and reconciliation, Non-Cash Entries, Investment Activity, Financial Statement preparation
. Ability to follow process and achieve deliverables
. Ability to follow established accounting guidelines and assist with planning by gathering information.
. Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and at clients
. Position must have demonstrated skill with designing spreadsheets and creating reports.
