Credit, Rates Settlements Associate - Makosi (New York, NY)

Main Function: This role is within the FI Rates and Credit Derivative Settlements team and the main duties are to reconcile the nostro accounts and provide strong customer service to our increasing client base. This will require a strong understanding off the underlying products and an ability to liaise with all areas of the business including sales, trading and middle office and the clients to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Main Duties
•Investigate and resolve allocated set of nostro breaks/clients within agreed timelines.
•Liaise with the Client, Desk, Sales team, Trade Support, Confirmations and other departments to resolve outstanding breaks.
•Contribute to the specification and testing of improvements for all systems and processes.
•Uphold the controls and procedures for the team, review and update as necessary.
•Cross train on all functions performed within the team and across the department

Person Requirements

Qualifications / Education:
•Degree educated or equivalent qualification

Experience

• Experience in an OTC derivatives environment
• Experience gained in a high volume house
• OTC derivative investigations experience
• Client service experience

Skills and Knowledge

•Strong understanding of OTC derivative products
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•Excellent verbal and written English

•Comprehensive financial products knowledge preferred
•Highly numerate with analytical problem solving ability
•Detailed knowledge of OTC interest rate and credit derivatives
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

•MIS presentation and report writing experience Credit, Rates Settlements Associate
