Financial Analyst - VLP Associates (New York, NY)

Job Description: An S&P 500 Media company is looking for an exceptional Senior Financial Analyst with 3-4 years of business experience to work with the Corporate Management Reporting Group located in Midtown. The individual will play a primary role in the analysis and review of divisional financial information to be presented to the Board of Directors and Executive Management. The role requires involvement in the Company s weekly and monthly management reporting processes, the quarterly financial close in preparation of quarterly earnings releases, and the Company s forecasts and budgeting processes. Additionally, the individual will have the opportunity to be involved with ad-hoc reporting requests and special projects. Job Description Review and analysis of divisional annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Review and assist in the completion of a weekly financial flash, which is distributedto Executive Management. Perform trend and variance analysis on divisional monthly P&L results, which is distributed to the Board of Directors and the Executive Management. Work with divisions to implement overall Corporate initiatives, including changes in reporting requirements or new technology rollouts. Preparation and review of the Quarterly P&L analysis, which is provided to the Board of Directors and Executive Management. Creating and updating financial analysis of key business indicators that are used by senior management. Training and developing the analysts in the group. Qualification: Job Requirements: Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and handle multiple detail oriented analysis Strong communication skills. Creativity in solving complex analysis and the ability to impact process improvement within the organization. Ability to take leadership roles in certain areas, while also being a strong team player overall. Ability to work in a fast paced, professional office environment. BA or BS in Accounting/Finance with 2+ years of related experience CPA or MBA along with Media/Entertainment experience a plus Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel Previous use of HFM or Hyperion Reports a major plus Required experience: 2 - 5 years Minimum required education: Bachelor's Degree Job category: Accounting, Insurance & Finance
