Job Description The Structured Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in New York is looking for an analyst/associate with current investment banking (or related finance) experience to join the team. The Structured Finance team helps clients securitize assets, businesses and risks associated with acquisition financing and balance sheet management. The team s product suite includes catastrophe bonds, film, entertainment and aircraft financing, and the securitization of residential mortgages, franchise royalties, intellectual property, infrastructure, auto loans, student loans, and life insurance. The Structured Finance group works with clients to finance assets, businesses and risks within their overall business. Each structured finance desk offers specialized client coverage, product expertise, capital markets expertise, deal execution and dialogue with thought-leading investors. The desks include: Financial Institutions; Technology, Media, & Telecom Consumer, Healthcare & Industrial; Trade, Transport & Infrastructure; Residential; Autos & Equipment; Consumer Credit and Structured Capital. The group s product suite includes catastrophe bonds, consumer asset financings (e.g., auto loans, credit cards, mortgages), aircraft financings, film slate / media rights financings, and intellectual property monetization. Given the interaction with groups across the firm globally, Structured Finance provides exposure to a breadth of activities and deal types. These include securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, asset sales and secured lending. Analysts work closely with senior bankers in preparing written and oral presentations, running asset and bond analytics, developing credit information for ratings agencies and investors, reviewing legal and other offering documents, and assisting in the valuation and financing associated with M&A, LBO and asset sale transactions. Responsibilities: The analyst role in Structured Finance combines many of the features of classic investment banking and sales and trading. Analysts develop outstanding modeling, client relationship and new business generation skills. Analysts in Structured Finance are integral member of small, dynamic teams and will be actively involved in managing transaction processes, developing models and analyses, and working across divisions on a variety of projects simultaneously. Analysts have opportunities to engage with clients and develop significant product knowledge while building a broad skill set in a short period of time. Analysts work closely with senior bankers in preparing written and oral presentations, running asset and bond analytics, developing credit information for ratings agencies and investors, reviewing legal and other offering documents, and assisting in the valuation and financing associated with M&A, LBO and asset sale transactions. Qualifications Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree and be available to start immediately (subject to any notice period required by their current employer, if applicable) Current experience as an investment banking analyst (or related financial position) Preferred Qualifications Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including modeling experience Good presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions (e.g., traders, sales, classic bankers) Ability to form independent judgments and move transactions forward Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Demonstrate attention to detail Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation Required experience: 0 - 2 years Minimum required education: Bachelor's Degree Job category: Accounting, Insurance & Finance;Investment Banking & Advisory
