Payroll Manager - Services for the UnderServed (New York, NY)

The Payroll Manager ensures that all SUS employees are paid timely and accurately in compliance with government and budget regulations.

- Effectively oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the payroll department with accuracy and timeliness. Identify problem situations, anticipate the cause, prevent future occurrences and supply solutions to management
- Prepares and processes the payroll for about 850 staff; verifying time sheet accuracy, and completing the input of payroll status changes into the Ceridian system program.
- Verifies the accuracy of time sheets and sick leave, vacation, and person time accruals.
- Supervise payroll staff by assigning and monitoring tasks.
- Process payroll adjustments and assist year-end responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with current government regulations.
- Implement policies on such matters as garnishments and payroll advancements to employees mandated by government and/or HR
- Prepare government reporting as well as accrual reports for the general ledger.
- Collaborate with internal and external line managers in all departments of the company.
- Record payroll related personnel charges to the general ledger.
- Process timesheet for temporary labor.
- Process client's personal allowance checks.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, CPP certification is a plus
- At least five years experience of payroll processing experience. At least two years of supervisory experience.
- Must be proficient in Ceridian Latitude, Time Pro; ADP experience okay, Strong MS office skills, especially Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
