General Summary-The Pricing Strategy team will manage projects supporting methodology development, process improvement, quantitative analysis, and technology/tool requirements. Pricing work includes event hind sighting, pricing effectiveness & optimization as well as business evaluation reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analytics responsibilities:
*
Analyzes pricing initiatives to understand impact on business performance and to ensure that business objectives are met.
*
Conducts scenario analysis on pricing and promotion activities to contribute to the development and implementation of pricing initiatives and to recommend adjustments/modifications to pricing and promotion activities in support of divisional and brand business objectives (financial, traffic, etc).
*
Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends to introduce continual process, tool and methodology improvements.
*
Prepare presentations and assists in presenting findings to all levels of organization.
*
5-7 years work experience required
*
Demonstrably analytical professional experience required
*
Other preferable professional experiences include: marketing effectiveness; inventory management; retail industry experience; systems development and implementation; forecasting
*
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, with emphasis on financial analysis, modeling and forecasting
*
Execution and results focused
*
Ability to apply analytical theory to realistic retail environments
*
Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis to drive actionable results
*
Ability to link strategy to financial opportunities
*
Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills including ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
*
Exceptional interpersonal skills required - can operate successfully within cross-functional teams at all levels
*
Knowledge of pricing & optimization principles and concepts required
*
Exposure to non-linear optimization methods & working knowledge of statistics required
*
Advanced knowledge of data manipulation tools: Excel, Access, SAS, Essbase and other analytic software tools
*
Experience with SQL, Visual Basic &/or pricing applications a plus
*
Undergraduate degree in Econ/Finance, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Industrial Engineering preferred
