Senior GAAP Accountant - Henderson Harbor Search (New York, NY)

Henderson Harbor Search (HHS) is a premier recruitment firm specializing in contingency, contract and contract–to–hire positions for Accounting, Finance and Tax professionals.


Our client is an international insurance company located in NYC and they are looking for a senior accountant of GAAP analytics

  • Prepare/review daily/monthly revenue and expense journal entry postings; agree amounts to underlying trading data, reports and systems
  • Review daily reconciliation of trading and commission data between client and correspondent clearing broker
  • Ensure soft dollar administration application/sub-ledger is reconciled to the general ledger
  • Review and reconcile customer billing for equities, options and FX
  • Liaise with client and clearing brokers
  • Reconciliation of domestic and international bank account activity
  • Prepare/analyze month-end revenue and expense accruals
  • Prepare journal entries for monthend close
  • Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements on a legal entity basis
  • Prepare/review bank reconciliations and other general ledger accounts
  • Liaise with auditors; prepare audit reports and reconciliations
  • Special projects related to automation of various accounting processes
  • Ad hoc reporting


Skills & Educational Requirements:



  • BS in accounting or finance; CPA a plus but not required
  • GAAP or STAT Consolidation experience ideal
  • Minimum 5 years of financial reporting, analysis and/or accounting experience in the
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, a plus
  • Advanced Excel User; Access and database knowledge, a plus
