International artists studio seeks a full time administrative assistant/archivist. You should be a fast learner who is looking for a challenge, someone who takes initiative to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Our studio is the main office of a French artist who is only in New York periodically. You will be working directly with 1-3 people in the New York office, and with about 5 colleagues who are located abroad. French language proficiency is necessary. Must be able and willing to work independently and take on a variety of tasks both big and small, with overlapping deadlines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Digitizing and archiving artwork in Artstacks, an art database system
-Coordinating exhibition and shipping logistics with galleries, clients and lending institutions
-Liaising with auction houses to authenticate works and confirm provenance
-Collaborating on book layouts and advertisement design
-Scanning, cleaning, and color-correcting images, both from the artist's archives as well as contemporaneous exhibitions
-Creating photomontages and presentation material for large-scale sculpture installations and proposed future projects.

Qualifications :
-Must be able to communicate in English and French. Please include mention of any other language skills.
-Experienced with MAC computers and the Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. Strong photo editing and manipulation skills needed. Please include one or two examples of previous your work, if possible, along with your resume.
-Should be detail-oriented, reliable, discreet, and able to work independently.
-Able and willing to work quickly and efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
-Knowledge of modern and contemporary art a plus.
-Experience in archival or collection management desired.
-Willingness to participate in tasks that keep our small office running smoothly (i.e. taking out trash, running dishwasher)
Candidate must be available to work 5 days per week (M-F), from 9-5. Pay is commensurate with experience.
