Shapiro Auctions, a boutique auction house focusing on European, American, Russian, and Asian fine and decorative art, is now accepting applications for our fall Arts Administration internship. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to learn about the business of art and how auctions are put together and run. The small size of the company will ensure that you will have an opportunity to experience every aspect of running an auction gallery and partake in the process of putting on an art auction from start to finish.

This is primarily an arts administration internship, and the candidate will assist in all facets of administration, inventory, and front office management.

-Studying Art History, Arts Administration, Marketing, Graphic Design, or similar
-must be very detail-oriented
-fluency in Russian highly desired
-a demonstrated interest in fine and decorative arts
-proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Photoshop and graphic design skills a plus)
-ability to thrive in a fast-paced, tight-knit environment
-ability to multi-task and deal with shifting priorities
-professional phone and email manner
-a sense of humor

This internship is for a minimum period of three months. The position offers a flexible schedule, but the successful candidate should be able to commit 8 hours a day for at least two days a week, and can begin as soon as possible. A daily lunch stipend and office snacks are also available.
