International development nonprofit organization seeking experienced full-time bookkeeper/office assistant. Individual will report to the CFO but also work closely with all program, communications and office staff.
Qualifications:
• Proficient in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs and other applications, Salesforce and PayPal (donations processing)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize, work independently, self direct and complete tasks in a fast paced environment
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Two years experience in general office administration and bookkeeping
⢠Experience working with a non-profit organization desired
⢠Demonstrated strong interested in BRAC's mission and international development
Responsibilities include:
⢠Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, vendors and suppliers using all appropriate communication methods
⢠Maintain all necessary systems for tracking correspondence, donations, prospects, contacts, volunteers, interns and prospect research.
⢠Take lead responsibility for office filing, data basing contacts, ordering supplies, furniture and equipment and maintaining office equipment and office environment.
⢠Liaise with vendors. Review and code bills from vendors.
⢠Maintain insurance.
⢠Take lead on handling incoming calls and mail, directing it to the right person as needed.
⢠Data entry into accounting records as noted below
⢠Receive, code and acknowledge all checks and online donations. Prepare and make bank deposits
⢠Accounts receivable: prepare/send invoices and monthly statements, online credit card processing and follow-up on past-due accounts
⢠Accounts payable: enter bills, obtain approval for payment, ensure timely payment, match invoices with payment
⢠Reconcile multiple bank and credit card accounts, research and correct discrepancies
⢠Prepare monthly, quarterly reports for cash flow, budgeting and supporting documentation for CFO as well as ad hoc financial reports as requested from program staff
⢠Prepare biweekly payroll reports from timesheets for submission to Paychex
⢠Must have knowledge of quarterly and annual federal and state unemployment tax returns, various payroll tax reports, and business and operating tax returns
⢠Assist with required periodic filings with the Census Bureau and state agencies
⢠Create and maintain employee files
⢠Perform other clerical duties including maintenance of paper and electronic files, assist with year-end audit inquiries, assist with mailings and archive records at year-end or as needed
Applicant should have knowledge and experience in nonprofit organizations and international development. Salary is commensurate with experience (range $30K-$40K).
