Internships with the Foundation

The Foundation for the Global Compact offers part-time (24 hours per week) internship opportunities at its New York, NY office on a rolling basis. We are currently seeking an intern for September – December 2014.

The Foundation for the Global Compact has three main objectives:

To ensure financial support for the UN Global Compact mandate
To raise the level of participation in and awareness of the UN Global Compact
To maintain strong collaboration between the Foundation and the Global Compact Office

Intern duties may include:

Assist the Foundation's Operations & HR Manager with office management support;
Assist the Foundation's Staff Account with finance and accounting support, including the review of invoices and updating our finance software with approved expenses;
Handle email and other general inquiries;
Conduct research as needed;
Draft and edit publications, papers and other documents;
Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
Duration and period

Internships at the Foundation for the Global Compact are available for durations of three to six months.


Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. The Foundation cannot sponsor visas for any intern.


Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English. In addition, they must be highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and know how to prioritize multiple tasks. A personable and professional demeanor is sought after. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office. A familiarity with corporate citizenship/corporate social responsibility and with the activities of the UN Global Compact is a plus.

Additional Information

There is a modest stipend for this internship based on hours worked. The Intern would be responsible for their lunch and transportation costs.

The Foundation also offers the benefit of receiving a United Nations Grounds Pass. Interns are encouraged to make the most of their internship by attending UN events.

The office hours are generally 10am – 6pm and the dress code is professional, with the exception of business casual Fridays. Staff meetings are held each Monday at 2:30pm.
