WESTWOOD GALLERY NYC is looking to fill two part-time internship positions (two to three days per week). The gallery is located on the Bowery, next door to ICP and steps away from the New Museum, and specializes in New York artists, rediscovered and contemporary, with a focus on Bowery artists, all media.

The gallery is seeking bright, personable and responsible interns for the front desk, to support gallery staff and general operations and to create a hands-on experience for the right candidates. This is a wonderful opportunity for highly motivated candidates interested in contemporary art to learn about the inner-workings of a New York City art gallery operating in the contemporary art marketplace and with secondary/museum artwork by Warhol, Kline, Rauschenberg, Stella, Léger. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, a team player, organized, dependable, punctual, able to work independently if needed and must demonstrate a professional demeanor.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the daily operations of the gallery, to conduct research, complete administrative and digital projects, and assist during events and exhibition openings. Other tasks may include updating the website, artwork inventory, social media, basic art-handling (i.e. art storage, protection and organization), general errands and office responsibilities. From artwork handling to exhibition coordination, working on special projects and collaborations and maintaining office inventory, the intern will have a chance to work on real projects. We are looking for interns to begin immediately and commit to 2-3 days a week for at least three months with the possibility of extending to 6 months.

> ability to work efficiently with other interns and gallery staff
> working knowledge of Photoshop, Word, Excel
> knowledge of Quark Express, InDesign a plus
> working skill with CMS websites
> social media experience

Additional Information:
A daily stipend is provided. Interns may arrange to receive academic credit.
