Offered for sale is my personal English Colonial style oak desk with bamboo and rattan trim. Beautiful laquered finish with nice brass door pulls. Solidly built with high quality bamboo legs, good joinery and a center cut-out for plenty of leg room. The desk is sturdy in excellent condition. A CLASSIC conversation piece with a touch of elegance.

Olde Good Things the ones on Madison Ave had a very similar one but smaller and not as good a condition as mine offered at $875

I'm building a small custom home bar and I need to free up some space so the desk needs to go.
Your chance to get it at the price of an Ikea cardboard. Price is FINAL.
Bamboo chair in pictures pairs with desk is also INCLUDED in price.

The desk is quite heavy and made of solid oak wood. I live on a ground floor and I'll help you carry it to your vehicle, so pickup should be easy.
It will fit in a trunk of an SUV or a 7 seater if you lay your back seats flat.

Pick up from Long Island City, NY

For full disclosure, the lacquer coat is peeled off on one side of the desk (check picture).
It's an easy and cheap fix. Any handyman can replace the coat for you, or you can just do it yourself.

to measurements:
Width:Â 48.00in
Height:Â 30.00in
Depth:Â 24.00in

Thanks for looking.

Many important 19th-Century French Impressionists portrayed Parisian ballet dancers in their art. The most notable Impressionist master whose art included dancers was Edgar Degas. Jean-Louis Forain was another Impressionist who based works on ballet dancers. (In fact it was Degas who introduced Forain to the Parisian ballet scene.) Degas also created works that showed people engaged in everyday activity, often viewed from unusual angles. J D Smith Fine Art is currently offering works by Degas and Forain.

An original etching by Degas titled, Dancers in the Wings, shows dancers staged behind scenery, poised to make their appearance on stage at the right moment. Another original etching by Degas shows laundresses at their work, viewed from across the room. COAs available. See these works by Degas at: http://www.jdsmithfineart.com/gallery-of-artists/degas-menu.

Two original watercolor paintings by Forain show dancers at the ballet. The first is titled Young Dancer, which shows a young dancer leaning against the wall a the corner, likely a rehearsal room. The second watercolor is titled Dancer and Her Dresser. It shows a dancer in the foreground in the final stages of preparing for a performance, with an older woman helping her in the background. Finally, an original etching by Forain is titled Dancers in Their Dressing Room; it shows dancers putting their costumes on in preparation for a performance. COAs available. Visit these works by Forain now at: See these works at: http://www.jdsmithfineart.com/gallery-of-artists/forain-menu.

FANTASTIC FOUR# 1 November 1961

SILVER AGE KEY

Stan Lee Story
Jack Kirby Cover and Interior Art

Origin and 1st Appearance (non costumed) of The Fantastic Four: Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Girl, The Thing, The Human Torch (1st Silver Age Appearance and 1st Appearance since 1954 Golden Age)

Marvel's 1st Superhero Team (Group) since 1940s Golden Age

Origin and 1st Appearance The Mole Man

Fantastic Four# 1 covers are cumulatively GOOD-VG (3.0). Front Cover GOOD (2.0). Back Cover VG-FN (5.0). There is a small semi circular piece missing from the top edge of the Front Cover above the T and the A in the word Fantastic. Both covers grade out to VG- (3.5) but I prefer to be more conservative and grade the covers as GOOD-VG (3.0).

Both covers are detached from the interior but in one piece. No spine split. A genius prior owner completely laminated both covers inside and out.

Interior is off white FN-VF (7.0). There is a small semi circular piece missing from the top edge of the Front Cover above the T and the A in the word Fantastic and into the interior for a few pages. Affects the border and none of the story.

The book is autographed by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby on page 1 top border. The autographs were present when I purchased the book. I did not witness the signatures. Therefore I will not vouch as to their authenticity.

Given the lamination, small piece missing at the top edge of the cover and into the interior for a few pages, uncertainty as to the validity of the autographs and factoring a FN-VF interior with GOOD-VERY GOOD covers, I grade the book as an overall G+ (2.5).

RBCC ROCKET'S BLAST COMIC COLLECTOR COMIC BOOKS FANZINES 1966-1975

THE fanzine that began Comics Fandom in the early 1960s. The Rocket's Blast began as a science fiction fanzine that later merged with another fanzine, the Comic Collector, continuing the Rocket's Blast numbering and simply became know as the RBCC. The RBCC was one of the first to bring fans together in a large forum to buy and sell comics through the mail BEFORE the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide existed, BEFORE the Buyer's Guide to Comic Fandom NOW the Comic Buyers Guide existed, BEFORE Comic Shops as we know them existed, BEFORE the Internet, Web Stores and Online Auction sites existed.

Unless you could attend a Convention in a major city the RBCC was usually the only way for fans to get back issues.

The RBCC was filled with ads for Golden Age and Silver Age comics (the then prices would make you cry today!), movies, old time radio, original art, convention reports, and other various fan publications. It also had great articles, interviews, comic reprints, and artwork from pros like Frank Brunner, Wallace Wood, Mike Ploog, Steve Ditko, Neal Adams, Frank Frazetta, Vaughn Bode, Tom Sutton, Berni Wrightson. Finally, the RBCC was also a showcase for then amateur artists BEFORE they turned pro including Don Newton, Mike Zeck, Kerry Gammill, Bret Blevins, and others.

Print runs on these RBCC's were between 1000 for the early issues and 2250 for the later issues (1500 for #121) so today, 36-45 years later, possibly less than 10% of the print run survives making THESE ISSUES RARE and HARD TO FIND especially in these grades.

All issues, to my knowledge and unless otherwise specified, ARE COMPLETE.
