TITLE
Actors for Staged Reading of New Play

DESCRIPTION
CASTING: Mighty Little Flowers by Noelle Cristiano-IN DEVELOPMENT READING

SYNOPSIS: Zara and Carmine are two lower-class seniors from different religious and cultural backgrounds competing for the same scholarship at their Catholic high school on Staten Island. They find home in each other, as they navigate through their struggle of identity, familial obligations, and societal standards, all before their walls start crumbling down.

This STAGED READING will be part of Normal Ave’s NEW In Development Program, directed by Shannon Molly Flynn.

SEEKING: Actors must be comfortable working in a collaborative, ensemble-based environment. Putting well-crafted, intelligent actors on this piece early on is vital to its creation and formation.

THE PROGRAM

Normal Ave Productions’ Works In Progress (WIP) Department has launched a new program, IN DEVELOPMENT, where we will be taking new full-length plays and putting them into our incubator: doing workshops and readings with the end goal of fully producing it in our next season.

This reading is the next step after hosting a private reading in July in front of trusted minds and industry professionals. After feedback and edits, it will be presented in front of its first audience at our staged reading this coming September. There will be a guided talk back following the reading to receive feedback and host a discussion with the playwright and creative team about the piece, as we look forward to fully producing this in our 2018 Season.
