Title: Managing Editor, Digital News, Reuters Location: US-NY-New York Job Number: NEW00003331 Overview: The Digital Editor will help lead the launch and expansion of the new Reuters.com suite of products, including an industry-leading website and apps that will transform the company's online presence. We're looking for an experienced journalist with the ambition to set new standards for innovative news presentation. You will lead a talented team that combines and supplements the output of our global multimedia editorial operation to deliver breaking news, agenda-setting opinion and rich interactive features for our international online audience. Reporting to the global head of consumer news, you will collaborate with the heads of our product and commercial teams to drive our goals of showcasing Reuters news and expanding the reach of the Thomson Reuters brand. Responsibilities: . Lead the editorial direction of our digital consumer products, including the transition from our current website to our Reuters Next platform. . Lead and manage a global team of producers, writers and video journalists. . Work closely with other editorial units to help plan news coverage and represent the interests of Digital. . Create content that advances our ambitions for news and meets our Trust Principles. . Be a digital and social media evangelist for Reuters as well as for other Thomson Reuters business units, actively engaging with stakeholders across the organization. . Represent the company externally where appropriate, for example at industry conferences. Qualifications: Knowledge, skills and abilities: . Exceptional editorial experience, preferably including work for an online product. . Ability to craft and communicate an editorial vision that will inspire a team to excel and focus on priorities. . An understanding of the capabilities of current and emerging web technologies. . Management experience and a high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders. .
