Since 1992, it's been legal for women to be topless in public anywhere in New York State where men can be. In 2007, I began documenting this unique state of gender equality with artistic photography of women exercising their equal rights in public, in the hopes of spreading similar legal equality all across the country. In the last couple of years, the "Free the Nipple" movement has brought significantly more attention to inequal treatment of women and men when it comes to the ability to have their shirts off without breaking the law. I've done over 70 photo shoots for this project, and am continuing to recruit for more.

The only requirement is that you're willing to be bare-chested in a public place, where people will be able to see you. Equal rights doesn't require you to be, or look like, a professional model - I'm just interested in hearing from women who believe in this cause, and want to be a part of it. Willing to shoot just about anywhere in New York City - or New York State - that strikes your fancy.

You can see much of my work here:

And here:

Compensation will be 50% of the revenue generated by the photo set when it's published on Diverxity, a website that allows artists and models to collaborate in a revenue-sharing environment:

Once you have a profile on Diverxity, you'll also be able to earn revenue by uploading your other modeling or photography work, and by referring others who join the site either to publish work or for paid subscriptions. (Yes, I do stand to benefit from people joining the site through this link, but this ad is for recruiting women to participate in the Topless New York photography series.)
