Business Objects Universe Designer/Architect is responsible and accountable for all BusinessObjects Development deliverables provided by the Enterprise reporting team. This includes architecture, design and implementation and support of solutions using the BusinessObjects Enterprise Server, Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence and Xcelsius platforms. Also included is managing, securing, scheduling and publishing Enterprise Server Content. General o Healthcare background preferred. Healthcare industry work experience and literacy. If not, financial sector background also acceptable / of interest. o Knowledge of / exposure to regulatory issues, environments, and requirement Knowledge areas and Technologies Expert in designing Business Objects Universe(s In depth knowledge of concepts of Universe Design. Expertise in designing Universes with row level security Should be able to recommend data warehouse designing to perform row level security and get better performance when using the Universes. Experienced in requirement gatherings from Business and create the specs for development of Universe Design/WebI Creates and maintains BO Universe(s) Work with cross functional Business and IT teams of business analysts, data modelers, solution architects, dba's and project managers during all SDLC phases Translates functional requirements into technical specifications Performs code walkthroughs and formal reviews Contributes and reviews technical SDLC documentation Working knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle 10g and up Expert level understanding of Life Cycle of project involving Business Objects Enterprise Should have designed complex Universess Should have experience implementing OLTP and Data Mart/EDW s. DSS (Decision Support System) / BI (Business Intelligence) Data Modeling and Information Management Experience/Exposure 5+ Years of Universe Development Strong understanding of Dimensional & Relational Data models. Ability to create the BO Universe(s) by connecting to custom applications & Data marts. At-least 4 years of experience in developing Universe(s) on SAP Business Objects Enterprise 3.1 environment. Experience with IDT and SAP BOBJ 4.0 is plus. Experience with large data centric applications, an OLTP VLDB environment. Knowledge of Xcelsius is a plus Experience creating Cubes is a plus Detailed data architecture design and deployment: soup-to-nuts, end-to-end o Has implemented and deployed in operations o Non-COTS development and deployment. True new development. o SLA s design decision impacts on SLA s (in the context of new data architecture design/development) Soft o Strong communications skills both written and oral o Ability to face off with external teams and senior executives o Full software life cycle experience in large complex systems o Large custom application development projects; exposure to all phases of the SDLC o Must be able to deliver within short time frames
