Creative Design Director - The Estee Lauder Companies (New York, NY)

Title: Creative Design Director Location: Americas-United States-New York Job Number:_121517 POSITION SUMMARY: The Global Creative Design Director is responsible for the Conception of ADF Global programs. This individual will concept 2D designs and create primary, secondary or promotional packaging for Global ADF brands. Collaboratively manage strategies enhancing all the ADF brands while overseeing execution of 2D and 3D development. Provide design direction during daily interaction with Senior Level Management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Ensure a high level of excellence in all creative work produced and executed by the department is consistent, cohesive, meets Marketing objectives, and is within budget and timeframe. Interface with Global Marketing, Product Development, Corp Purchasing and Packaging Engineering to coordinate creative development. 2) Lead Package Design team in generating innovative packaging according to the brand strategy and launch calendars. Oversee the design and production of all product packaging. Includes concept presentations (drawings, renderings, and models), managing of departmental DTO's, standards and attending pressruns. 3) Work closely with Global Marketing coordinating 2d creative development, setting agendas and review status. Attend weekly development HIT LIST\" meetings specific to projects being developed. 4) Oversee sourcing and utilize outside vendors, artists and designers for new innovative creative solutions. Negotiate fees and handle contracts. 5) Manage operating budget, tracking and timing of programs, billing records and related paperwork in an efficient manner. 6) Foster idea-sharing and cross-communications across Creative, Marketing, Packaging and Product Development to generate innovative designs according to brand strategy and launch calendars. 7) Manage full-time staff or freelancers. 8) Travel as needed for sourcing inspiration, approving production standards and final press runs. 9) Work closely with all licensors and agencies and attend regular status meetings with various outside groups. 1) Bachelor's degree in a design related field. 2) Must have 8 years work experience in a creative position. 3) Self-motivated, innovative and able to multi-task under pressure in fast paced environment. 4) Needs to be highly organized, timely and fiscally responsible. 5) Position requires strong leadership skills and project management skills. 6) Proficient in use of MAC environment with technical knowledge of Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop a mustEEO We are an equal opportunity employer.
