Enterprise Sales Executive - East Coast United States

This is working for a US start-up that has been acquired by a UK giant.

We require an individual that can get the ball rolling and generate the revenues quickly.

Its not a role for the Corporate Sales Person who has been working for the major players, but needs the "True Grit" personality of the start-up person, someone that can generate sales from there roladeck or network. Its a compelling solution and clients have an immediate need for it, but it needs someone to add more enterprise accounts to grow out the userbase and truely establish them as the leader in the space.

About the client

The company has developed a smart data discovery product set, which enables organizations to discover data across the enterprise, in either the data lakes or relational data instances (Big data or RDBMs). They help enterprises trace data elements across these systems in spite of outdated metadata definitions. The product utilizes “machine learning algorithms” which dramatically increase the accuracy, intelligence and speed of learning of complex data elements and data relationships throughout and across the entire business environment. The products have been developed over the last few years by a team with a deep understanding of the data challenges and provides first-hand insight and appreciation into customers’ diverse and complex data needs.

The products can be used for a variety of solutions, GDPR, Cross Selling, Data Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Re-platforming, Metadata Management and others.

The company is still an early stage startup, but already regarded by many leading Analyst as the market-leader in Data Discovery space, as it allows the business and technology users, to easily find, understand and leverage the data within the organization.

The company has recently received the next round of funding and they are now looking to expand the sales team out of the New York (Manhattan Office) on the East Coast and specifically in New York. They currently have sales people covering both the Eastern and Western United States as well as UK & Europe. They are strategically distributed in 4 primary locations, New York (Manhattan), London, as well as India and Eastern Europe.

This role will be a pivotal position in supporting growth in the region and will be a key person in the Sales Team and helping to establish sales culture. Initially you will be responsible for identifying and securing new and existing, customers across multiple sectors (Financial Services, Insurance, Energy & Utilities, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Transportation, Retail and Telecoms). With an initial target of $1.4million, you should ideally be shooting for $2m-$3m of actual revenue in the first year, and double that in year two.

Without a doubt, you will need to be a results-driven individual, as well as a strong team player; comfortable with working in a fast paced and changing environment within a startup company & culture (Drive it yourself). Your success relies on your passion for the data technology and the overall data space. You will need to be very self-motivated, hungry for success and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.

The ideal person will have worked in a leading data technology company (Data Discovery, Big Data, Data Warehousing or ETL) ideally a new-age data software and solution companies offering either an on-premises or more importantly SaaS product set. This person will need to demonstrate a track-record of delivering against multi million pound revenue targets over a number of years. This is initially an Enterprise Sales Executive role but success can provide opportunity in the sales team in the future as it matures and grows out, across both the territory and the verticals and as the team grows.

The package reflects the position and the challenge, it’s a trail blazing, guts and glory role, for someone that wants to be in control of their own destiny, a very high achiever, but who has the skills, network, drive and ingenuity to make it happen and deliver multi million dollars of revenues, consistently.

Package will reflect experience - commission (OTE ) & will reflect ability to deliver against and beyond target - this is uncapped so we are looking for people that can fly.


Base Salary flexible

Commission OTE 50/50 - - Target of £1.4m pa - but no cap (Circa $500k+)
