Facility Technician - Enfield, CT 01/23/2013 Online-Application We are seeking a Facility Technician for our Enfield, CT location. SUMMARY: Can properly install machinery, plumbing, electrical and instrumentation systems for plant operations and is thoroughly familiar with the correct methods of using standard tools and instruments for repair, setting, adjusting, and leveling machines. Can read and check work against drawings, instructions, and manuals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Can perform routine preventive maintenance including lubrication and adjustment of machine tools, production equipment, and facility support equipment in accordance with prescribed methods. Is qualified to perform building maintenance including minor painting, masonry, and carpentry. May be required to work non-standard hours in order to make repairs without interruption of production operation. * Can troubleshoot, modify, adjust and perform minor repairs on heating systems and air conditioning systems used in the facility. * Can work with minimum supervision and is capable of organizing and scheduling repair work so that equipment is returned to normal operations with a minimum of interruption to production. * Will train others of lower or equal classification. * Must follow and enforce Company safety regulations and requirements. * Follows ISO 9001 policies and procedures in the performance of the responsibilities of the job. * Perform other job related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * Can interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot and repair those systems. * Is capable of making sketches and plans for review and approval. * Can establish and maintain preventive maintenance procedures, records and schedules for periodic lubrication and adjustment of machine tools and equipment throughout the plant. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED). * Vocational education or apprenticeship program in plumbing, minor electricity, and machine repairs, or equivalent experience in general maintenance, including experience in troubleshooting mechanical, minor electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: * The individual must possess effective oral and written communication skills. * Must be fluent in the English language, with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and have the ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
