Clarins Fragrance Group is seeking a stellar Graphic Designer with outstanding design abilities to work at our corporate office in New York City. You will be working on prestigious fragrance brands, such as Azzaro, Swarovski, David Yurman and Porsche Design, with the Creative Director and Marketing teams to create and maintain the look and feel of each brand’s presence in the US market. You will play an active role in the concept, design and execution phases and projects across an array of media. Your responsibilities will challenge you to do your best work, while shaping the face of the brands for the future.
As Graphic Designer you should be comfortable solving problems, owning projects and proactively managing up to a Creative Director. Supreme attention to detail in all facets of design is compulsory, as is the ability to work fluidly across a myriad of disciplines, including print design, digital design, POS retail design, packaging and focused brand initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Print Promotion: Understand and apply brands style and guideline requirements.
Create, layout, build, package and preflight print ready design mechanicals for various print work including retail scented pieces, direct mail, store visual elements, training brochures, value labels and corporate literature.
Coordinate with purchasing department and production to ensure project stability.
Liaise with Marketing and Sales on specific promotional events: budget guideline, quantities, identifying stores where “visual weeks” are viable and developing brand image POSM as needed.
Attend CFG photo shoots – art direct, silo and retouch in house still life photography for internal, promotional and online use.
Use and maintain existing photo library. Packaging: Design promotional packaging (gift set boxes, sleeves, texture items) for the Azzaro, Swarovski, David Yurman and Porsche Design brands.
Coordinate with purchasing department and production to ensure project stability.
Create GWP and Special Offer packaging as needed, and/or adapt from international programs offered from France. Digital: Create/layout landing pages, e-blasts, banners and special projects.
Maintain and supply all current digital assets to e-commerce, sales admin team, ektachrome website and retailer sites. Misc. Functions: Adhere to Clarins Fragrance Group standards and processes.
Keep track of project schedule/status chart – print, maintain and distribute schedule/status chart for weekly meetings.
Route all artwork, layouts, proofs and artwork requirements to appropriate departments.
Coordinate all photography and copy needs associated with creative briefs and projects.
Fulfill all misc. requests by sending logos, images, etc.
Keep supervisor apprised of the status of work. Essential Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in design
At least 5+ years of graphic experience with a strong interest in beauty and/or fashion industry
Strong creative and problem solving skills
Strong organization, multi-tasking and prioritizing ability
Strong attention to detail both in design and daily administrative tasks
In depth knowledge of Adobe CS5 (design suite) and knowledge or Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of prepress, color matching/retouching, off set and digital printing a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
