You will demonstrate strong object-oriented design skills and strong analytical capabilities. Knowledge of distributed compute infrastructures is very desirable. Other strengths would include experience with TDD/Agile development methodologies and other programming languages. Any financial background or knowledge is a plus. An individual with sufficient experience may be able to take on leadership role with responsibility for a subcomponent within the team.Qualifications:Required skills:The IT-Market Risk Team is seeking candidates with deep design/development ability in Java with computer science, engineering, math, physics, or information technology degree. Specific qualifications include:. Strong software and business systems design, analysis, and development skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in developing and/or supporting 24/7 mission critical applications. 2-5 years of IT work experience (financial industry preferred but will consider a strong candidate from other industries). Should be ready to participate in a team development and support of various components of large-scale applications. Strong demonstrated knowledge of Java and Oracle. Experience practicing TDD/Agile development methodologies. Familiarity with distributed computing infrastructures, UNIX Shell programming, finance, risk management, derivatives, and/or other financial instruments a plusDesired skills:As an Application Developer, you will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow and generally be involved in the full Project Life Cycle.
