Javascript front-end engineer Tracking Code 1689 Job Description The company: Hearst Digital Media, a unit of Hearst Magazines, is a cohesive team of best-in-class talent that's responsible for implementing the digital strategy for Hearst's magazine brands. We've launched, re-launched or acquired 24 Web sites and 10 mobile sites for brands such as Cosmopolitan, Popular Mechanics, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire and Seventeen, as well as digital-only sites such as RealAge.com, and RealBeauty.com. We've published more than 50 apps and digital editions for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, as well as the Droid platform, including enhanced digital issues, utilities, special content and games based on its popular brands. The role: * Producer * You will work within a suite of integrated products that comprise a successful enterprise platform that powers the internet and mobile businesses in this division. * You will be involved in building and supporting dynamic content websites, ecommerce systems, registration / profiling systems, various custom applications. * Responsible for creating functionality using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You will work with other developers to define and utilize web services and API calls. You will also optimize the site layout, site performance, and check cross-browser compatibility. The Impact: The Hearst Digital Media group functions as the internet face of the Magazines division. You will be part of a team of producers that are responsible for all front-facing web design and content. The requirements: * Minimum 5 Years of required experience * JavaScript fluency at a high level * Work with JavaScript frameworks a big plus (extJS, JQuery) * Complete command of HTML5 and CSS * Graphics: Update, modify and correct graphical design elements, including navigation and image names; Create headers; handle any other graphical requests. * Work with SEO expert and site editors to ensure content is appropriately titled and tagged for search engine optimization. * Work with designers, content writers, project managers, technology team and other contributors to ensure site is released on time. Follow-up to resolve any issues with site/product. * Any experience with HTML::Template as well as a source control system is a big plus. * In addition to other Producers, you will interact with business analysts, designers, and a marketing staff to build great online products and reporting tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
