Position Description:
Responsible for design,development and maintenance of applications and processes used by the GCM Front Office, Collateral, Operations, Risk and Finance teams. The position will report to the one of the senior developers in the GCM IT team. This is a hands-on role for an individual with a strong technical background with demonstrated full software development life-cycle and some level of business analysis skills as well as providing production support and troubleshooting the day-to-day issues.

In addition to ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of the technology platforms and project execution to implement enhancements and develop new features and process to compliment and extend the existing platform to meet business requirements.

Maintain and provide end-user support once the enhancements are promoted to production. This includes managing the software development life-cycle from co-ordinating changes to testing and documentation.

Troubleshoot production issues to ensure timely resolution with a high standard of impact analysis and explanation to all relevant parties.

The individual is required to collaborate closely with GCM business users across different areas such as Front-office, Collateral, Operations, Risk and Finance.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience developing .NET based solutions using C#, ASP.NET MVC and technologies like WPF, WCF, multi-threading, web services, web APIs ideally in the financial industry.
  • Proficiencies with Agile development practice a must as is the ability to code review.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and development
  • Experience with MVC, MVVM and MVP architectures
  • Experience with abstraction and design patterns
  • Experience with client side technologies including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX and third party components.
  • Experience with ORM technologies, including NHibernate and Entity Framework
  • Work effectively with the Infrastructure architects and DBA teams to ensure that all approved development and deployment procedures are followed.
  • Understanding of Oracle database and experience working with sql, stored procedures, functions
  • Experience with cloud technologies and architecture would be a plus.
  • Candidate will be part of a team responsible for on-going development of department based applications which integrate with multiple systems.
  • Hands-on working experience with TFS and continuous integration is desired.
  • Basic understanding of finance, fixed income securities and derivatives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills
  • Aptitude for debugging problems in complex, unfamiliar code
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
