Performs therapeutic measures prescribed according to nursing assessment. Participates and initiates the nursing care plan to meet the needs of the resident/patient. Maintains resident's/patient's medical and nursing record - entering nursing observations and actions taken. Participates in the interpretation of treatments to residen/patient and families. Participates in nursing staff conferences and revise nursing care plans according to information gained. Makes recommendations for additional or modified services, coordinating resident's/patient's care with other members fo the health care team. Observes nursing care to insure that care is given according to the nursing home's policies and procedures. Observes the nutritional needs of residents/patients. Actively, participates at mealtime by assigning staff, observing and feeding residents/patients. Responsible for maintaining equipment in good functioning order. Responsible for carrying out fire and safety regulations to maintain a safety environment. Participates in the evaluation fo staff members. Participates in nursing committees which influence or determines policies affecting nursing practice. Knowing and applying scientific principles in performing nursing procedures. Assists with orientation, skill training and evaluation of new nursing service personnel. Reports to oncoming nurse, the conditions of residents/patients or unusual problems. Assumes other delegated charge responsibilities in the absence of the Head Nurse.
