Technical Support Analyst - Kforce Inc (New York, NY)

A Kforce client is seeking a Windows Administrator / Technical Support Analyst in New York, NY.

Responsibilities:
* Maintain PCs, servers, networking devices, printers, and peripherals and spare component stock
* Assist in the design process and implementation of computer systems and networks
* Maintain IT equipment through monitoring, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, upgrading, and repairing hardware as well as checking disk space, perform clean up, maintenance tasks on file, print, and infrastructure servers
* Provide IT support for site-specific issues
* Update assigned issues in the Help Desk database system
* Maintain and ensure that back-ups on all systems occur and are reported on daily
* Maintain an accurate and current inventory of installed site software licenses and compliance
* Administer network virus protection on servers and clients
* Implement and comply with site specific IT Operations business continuity plan and security policies
* Implement, maintain, and adhere to all IT policies and procedures as set by IT management

The successful Windows Administrator / Technical Support Analyst in New York, NY will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
* Strong technical aptitude, especially relating to PC hardware
* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocol
* Strong knowledge of Windows 2000 / 2003 / 2008 / 2008 R2 Network Administration to include creating, deleting, and changing user accounts and user VPN accounts
* Understanding of network services (WINS, DNS, and DHCP)
* Demonstrate the ability to install, support, and maintain Windows 9x, NT / 2000 / XP / 7 Operating Systems, the Microsoft Office Suite, and Exchange / Outlook e-mail clients and be able to install and troubleshoot problems with various 3rd party applications and utilities
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* MCITP - Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7 is preferred
* MCITP - Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 is preferred
