TIBCO Architect (positions are home based, must live near major airport)

Responsibilities:



  • Enterprise Architecture Principles

    • Mastery of principles and their application to TIBCO products
    • Business process modeling for automated and human-interaction processes
    • Use of BPMN and UML notations
    • UML Class, Activity, State, Composite Structure, Implementation diagrams
    • Information modeling
    • Process monitoring and management
    • Total Architecture Synthesis methodology
    • Services and their utilization
    • Coordination patterns and breakdown detection
    • Fault Tolerance, High Availability, and Site Disaster Recovery
    • Load distribution, including sequencing (serialization)
    • Performance tuning and testing
    • Transport and adapters
    • Managing replicated data
    • Security
    • TIBCO Products – Candidates must demonstrate or quickly obtain:

      • Proficiency with core products within candidate’s respective specialty area, such as SOA, BPM, CIM, BE, etc.
      • Working knowledge of key products in at least one additional specialty area
      • Working understanding of how all TIBCO products fit together


    • Broad Technology View – Candidates must demonstrate commanding and broad view of technology, beyond TIBCO products
    • TIBCO AVF – Candidates demonstrate or quickly obtain working knowledge of TIBCO AVF methodology


  • Business Acumen

    • Client Business Needs – Candidates must demonstrate ability to quickly grasp business drivers for implementing TIBCO and the associated business value
    • Client Core Values – Candidates must demonstrate ability to quickly grasp and reflect clients’ core values through the candidates’ work and solutions implemented
    • Sales Awareness Within Accounts – Candidates must demonstrate constant awareness of potential incremental TIBCO revenue opportunities within existing engagements, for both licenses and services




  • Engagement Management

    • Leadership – Candidates must demonstrate leadership abilities during client engagements, ability to lead group meetings and large implementation efforts with client, TIBCO, and/or partner resources
    • Client Relationship – Candidates must demonstrate ability to earn the trust of clients and build relationships at multiple levels and across multiple functional areas within client accounts
    • Process Management – Candidates must demonstrate ability to work with the clients’ defined work processes, or drive/manage processes onsite according to TIBCO AVF methodology
    • Tasks and Deliverables – Candidates must demonstrate ability to manage successfully one’s time and deliver on projects tasks and deliverables without extra supervision
    • Internal TIBCO Relationships – Candidates must demonstrate ability to build and maintain working relationships within TIBCO and be able to draw on these relationships as needed to solve client issues


  • Communication

    • Verbal – Candidates must demonstrate ability to speak effectively for communicating their thoughts and ideas
    • Written - Candidates must demonstrate ability to write effectively for communicating their thoughts and ideas
    • Presentation - Candidates must demonstrate basic presentation skills and be able to stand before an audience and present effectively their thoughts and ideas, as well as handling objections


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • BA/BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent); MS desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience (includes software development, design):

    • Minimum 2 years experience leading the analysis and design of EAI architecture
    • Implementing medium- to large-scale EAI applications in production; excellent understanding of the issues involved
    • Developing integration solutions (TIBCO preferred however experience with other products is helpful)
    • Development methodologies including UML
    • Systems Management software
    • Background in vertical industries such as financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, insurance, government, logistics, and /or high-tech manufacturing.


  • Knowledge of programming languages:

    • C, C++, Java (strong Java knowledge is preferred)
    • J2EE or .NET experience preferred.
    • XML technologies (e.g. XSD, XPATH, XSLT)


  • Demonstrated proficiency in messaging technologies (especially JMS)

    • Strong working knowledge of UNIX, LINUX and Windows operating systems.


  • Familiarity with:

    • application servers, EJBs, JSP and Servlets
    • OS/390 and AS/400
    • common data models such as OAG
    • SOA and Web Services concepts


  • Proficient in installation, configuration, and implementation of SOA, BPM, and Business Optimization product suites
  • Understanding of network design and operation, and performance tuning
  • System performance analysis and capacity planning
  • Should be able to independently develop architecture for small and medium size projects

    • Ability to lead teams to create logical data models and map data elements from one system to another.
    • Solid understanding of OO design and development.


  • Ability to identify, define and build new business opportunities

    • Must be able to function as a team leader, providing direction to less senior members of the development team.
    • Strong client facing skills – presentation, facilitation, written and verbal communications
    • Strong problem identification and problem solving skills
    • Must have the ability to structure deliverables to maximize reuse and productization where applicable
    • Ability to participate in the development of project plans including estimates for the entire life cycle of the project


  • Must have the ability to travel as needed, up to 80%.
