CASAC & CASAC-T- COUNSELORS - HAUPPAUGE OR RONKONKOMA Long Island,NY CASAC and CASAC-T Counselors HAUPPAUGE AND RONKONKOMA Phoenix House, one of the nation''s largest not-for-profit organizations specializing in the treatment and prevention of substance abuse is seeking experienced substance abuse counselors. CASAC or CASAC-T preferred; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred. Responsibilities . Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life in recovery and making changes. . Participates in case conferences to assess client progress; where needed makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning. . Supervises staff in scheduling all client treatment activities; assigns caseloads; provides training; monitors and evaluates counselors in the performance of their duties. . In cooperation with the Program Director, assesses staff development and training needs. . Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures regarding record keeping and HIPPA laws. Qualifications . CASAC or CASAC-T preferred. . Ability to perform under clinical and administrative pressure. . Good interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills required. . Substance Abuse and/or mental health experience preferred. . Bachelors or Master's degree preferred. .
