Electrical Engineer – Firmware FOCUS - (West Chester, OH)

Responsible for R&D, continuous improvement, and sustaining engineering for Verifi product lines and systems for HW, FW, and SW products. Design production equipment, PCB's, test fixtures, and processes. Provide engineering support to customers, manufacturing, and management. Design and develop product and system level improvements and features that meet all specifications defined for that project following all Engineering procedures for product development Designs, writes, modifies and tests firmware/software modules and applications. Design, develop and modification of electronic devices and firmware for control systems Design test fixtures Generates or assists in product design documentation Design and perform tests/experiments and formally report results to management Assemble, test, and modify prototype assemblies Troubleshoot, determine root cause and repair of failures on prototypes, production assemblies, installed systems, and returned products Analyzes design requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints Work closely with management and peers to generate design specifications and requirements Provide technical support to internal and external customers Provide design, manufacturing, and field service support Process RMA's, ECO's, and other RSS control documentation Requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering 1. Finalize designs for current product line. Possible redesign both on a PCB and final assembly level, test fixture upgrades, firmware modifications, a. Display module - Hardware, firmware and test fixture and application i. Product is in the first production stages and the test fixture and code is 60% complete b. Power Module- Hardware, firmware and test fixture and application i. Product is in the first production stages and the test fixture and code is 80% complete c. Rotation Sensor - Assist lead engineer with hardware design i. Product is in the production stages, but hardware design has not been fully tested ii. Test fixture and code is 50% complete 2. New development a. Global Power module i. Specifications are 80% defined ii. Development is in conceptual stages 3. Sustaining engineering for new products listed in item 1 3-10 years product development in control systems Code development for embedded devices Process control HW/SW design experience Regulatory compliance a plus Must have good people skills, team player, self motivated, quality focused Proficient in C/C++ and assembly code development and use of associated tools Troubleshooting skills for software, firmware and hardware from system to component levels Working knowledge of TCP/IP socket programming Statistical Analysis Communications protocols and design, i.e. CAN, J1939 Inter-processor communications Ability to interpret electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and design specifications Working knowledge of electronic assembly test equipment, i.e. meters, o-scopes, power supplies… Working knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical components, i.e. Digital, analog and programmable ICs, passives, relays, circuit breakers and other components Working knowledge of SQL, Postgres, and other Database platforms a plus Ability to work unsupervised; be self-motivated and willing to take initiative to accomplish set goals Must be able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization Ability to maintain confidential information. PC literate, i.e., ACAD , Gerber Viewers, Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, and MS Office applications
