Hughson Trucking Inc. is now hiring 20 Experienced Truck Drivers from the United States to work legally in Canada for 2 years to help with the current labor shortages. We offer a minimum guarantee plus an extensive health care plan.
The province of Alberta alone anticipates a shortage of 114,000 workers in the coming years. Hughson Trucking Inc. has been preapproved for 20 Labor Market Opinion (LMOs) which is a 2-year work permit to help fill the need for qualified truck drivers to haul Super B Flat Decks and Hoppers throughout western Canada and the United States.
To qualify for Hughson Trucking Inc. Foreign Workers Program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
• You must be a minimum of 25 years old
• You must be able to speak, read and write English.
• You must pass a US DOT Drug Screen.
• You must have a clean criminal record.
• You must have a current CDL (Class 1 or A) Driver’s License with minimum of 2-5 years of truck driving experience.

If you are able to meet the above basic requirements you must have experience carrying out the majority of the following duties:
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and material to destinations
• Oversee all aspects of vehicles, loading and unloading, tarping and safety and security of cargo
• Plan travel schedules and routes; use land locations and other trip planning aids.
• Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, brakes and lights
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness. Preform preventative maintenance.
• Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log book or on on-board computer
• Receive from and relay information to dispatcher
• These additional abilities are considered an asset: Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods. Mountain and winter driving conditions. Chaining tires. Willing to travel cross border. Willing to travel overnight and or stay in camps. Oilfield experience.
Salary: Your annual pay will be a minimum of $54,000 – up to $90,000 subject to job performance. Bonuses and Benefits.

Benefits: Once you receive your work permit you will immediately qualify for Alberta Health Care (includes doctor visits and hospital care). Upon 90 days of employment you will be qualified to receive additional health care insurance through Hughson Trucking Inc. which includes a plan for dental, prescriptions, out of country medical expenses and supplies and services to treat injuries or illness as well as life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Getting you screened for our requirements and approved for the LMO could take as little as two weeks. We are finding that it usually takes up to two months for our candidates to get their personal business in order to make the transition to Canada.
Accommodations: You must have a Canadian residency to complete the LMO/work permit. We can assist you in finding accommodations, which is necessary to complete your work permit.
