Requisition Number 12-1183 Post Date 1/23/2013 Title PSS Pick & Pack Worker City Fairfield State NJ Description PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Pick and Pack Worker is responsible for pulling, checking and packing orders with productivity, quality and accuracy for all outbound shipments at the branch location. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: The Pick and Pack Worker preferably will have previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere, including receiving, pulling orders, packing and shipping with a history of teamwork and motivation. Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or G.E.D. PREFERRED OFFICE/MACHINE EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE: Basic computer skills required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The main responsibilities of the Pick & Pack Worker is: . Pull outbound orders . Check and verify inventory quantities in system . Knowledge of NDC #s, hard to pick items, special category and specific items such as Abbott kits. . Watch unit of measure, expiration dates, lot numbers, product rotation (FIFO) and damaged products. . Comprehend basic warehouse layout of bins and items, including overstock and secondary bin locations. . Interact with Inventory Control Specialist daily to ensure accurate inventory. . Maintain high productivity, quality and accuracy. . Forklift certification and equipment maintenance. . Understand HazMat, shipping requirements and the associated regulations. . Maintain cleanliness of aisles, bins, packing stations and other areas on the shipping dock. . Observing Safety regulations, understanding of OSHA requirements, proper manual lifting techniques. . Maintain the security of the shipping dock . Identify variables or exceptions to normal processing. . Take appropriate resolution of problems. . Packing and checking outbound orders. . Understand proper packaging materials and procedures, including weights, temperature requirements, corrugated boxes, labels, and proper routing. . Read and understand the pick ticket, including special instructions, Next Day Air, Second Day Air. . Operating a banding / strapping machine. . Operating a UPS or FedEx manifesting machine. . Maintain and stock proper inventory of packing supplies. . Completing picking and packing duties daily. . Must maintain a good attendance record. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: . Any other job related tasks as assigned.
