Its seven schools and colleges include: School of Architecture and Design; College of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Computing Sciences; School of Health Professions; School of Management; College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the newly formed School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Education.

The Department of Mathematics of NYIT seeks an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), located at the Manhattan campus for the Fall of 2018.

Responsibilities

Teaching Undergraduate Mathematics courses offered to Architecture and Engineering majors, included but not limited to Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II and III,

Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability Theory, Statistical Analysis.

Ability to use multimedia and other technologies as needed.

Advise students in the Mathematics minor and various other technical majors including Architecture, Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

Participate in course and program development; scholarly and professional development activities.

Perform university and community service; and perform other duties as assigned by the Chair.

Projected starting date is Fall 2018 with primary teaching responsibilities at the Manhattan campus, and with possible, occasional teaching in Old Westbury.

Qualifications

Ph.D in Applied Mathematics required. Must demonstrate excellent teaching and should have a clear research plan and a record of research activities that shows promise for publication. Postdoctoral experience and a potential for securing external grant is preferred.
