Career Level Experienced City New York U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces New York Country United States Responsibilities Essential Functions The Director of Marketing & Tourism will oversee the operations, marketing, management, sales and business development of the NBC Studio Tour. The NBC Studio Tour is conducted in NBCUniversal's headquarters located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in midtown Manhattan, NY. This individual will develop the department's strategy to drive revenue and customer growth to the NBC Studio tour ensuring a positive, rewarding and fun experience for all guests, while promoting NBCUniversal brands. This position will report into the SVP, Business Services and will manage a team of both NBCUniversal staff and outsourced employees. The individual will also partner with the NBC Page Program to enhance tour quality and tour guide training. This position will be based out of Company offices in New York, New York. General responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Responsibilities * Manage multi-million dollar revenues cultivated via multiple customer platforms both direct, partners and 3rd party sales from domestic and international outlets. * Define and execute a strategy to ensure strong financial performance in the NBC Studio Tours, year over year growth and a solid business development plan. Evaluate customer contracts, pricing strategy and cultivate new customers. * Collaborate with internal colleagues to cross-promote NBCUniversal brands, studios, shows, resources and talent. * Manage a team of both NBCUniversal staff and vendors. Set team goals, provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop staff. * Integrate with NBCUniversal sales, retail teams and marketing groups to leverage, co-sell and pitch the Studio tour business. * Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients and vendors. * Ensure compliance and integrity in all processes from point of sale through team's projection and reporting of results. * Build a new enhanced NBC Studio Tour experience levering NBC's rich history, behind the scenes moments, interactive technology and multiple brand specific experiences to create an engaging customer experience. * Motivate team to expand sales domestically and internationally looking for opportunities to leverage relationships with Universal Theme Parks and other affiliated brands and properties and tourist organizations * Ensure a streamlined marketing effort and unified message for driving consumers to the NBC Studio Tour * Develop strategic relationships with content and technological partners, enabling team to work closely with product development groups and implement new business initiatives * Partner with the Page Program on the NBC Studio Tour, develop and implement training for tour guides, communicate any changes to tour pricing, feedback from customers and better ways to leverage tour to drive other purchases Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications * Bachelor''s Degree required * 4+ years experience in operating roles specific to the media industry, theme park and tourism industry * Prior experience meeting and/or exceeding revenue targets * Experience collaborating and working closely with Executives, Talent and Talent Agents, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, vendors, and both internal and external clients * Experience with financial analysis (e.g. building and presenting business case) and budget oversight. * Capable of making convincing recommendations to management, supported by objective results and solid analysis and financial rationale, and the ability to defend those recommendations and taking ultimate responsibility for results. Desired Characteristics * Advanced degree in related field * High level of integrity and proven ability to comply with all laws and Company policies. * Prior experience in a tourist or strategic operations role in the media/theme park industry. * Experience managing a team of staff and non-staff employees. * Proven ability to maintain relationships with vendors and consultants. * Experience implementing and executing on a strategy. * Ability to work well in a team and with divisions external to Business Services, Operations, Sales and Marketing. * Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with all levels of management.
