As an ambassador for Eataly, the Education and Events Lead will be an upbeat and flexible food enthusiast with a strong interest in furthering food education in Eataly consumers; someone who is excited to learn and grow with the Eataly team and continue his or her personal education in the restaurant private dining business.

Our Education and Events Lead will market, organize, and be the main point of contact for all private events. Event formats include group and private dining as well as complete buyout events in various spaces within the store, including, but not limited to La Pizza & La Pasta, Le Stagioni, Osteria della Pace, and Vino e Grano, as well as the entire Eataly market. He or she will be responsible for coordinating events from beginning to end, working to facilitate communication between chefs, beverage managers, and restaurant team members; and will ensure each individual event is planned correctly and runs smoothly, from supervising the on-site front and back of house teams; to behind-the-scenes organization and data entry.

The Private Dining Associate will adhere to all company and department procedures, policies, expectations and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

1. Coordinates the sale of private dining events within Eataly NYC Downtown restaurants and event spaces, including, but not limited to: group dining, private dining, and complete buyouts of restaurant spaces, market corners, or the entire store.

2. Creates, updates, and managers the BEO for any sold event. Coordinates with FOH, BOH, and beverage team in order to create party packages and execute booked events.

3. Manages all correspondence for the department via email and over the phone including general inquiries, bookings, and payments; may also communicate in-person by giving tours of potential private dining spaces and the Eataly NYC Downtown store.

4. Collects information for and creates private dining materials, including, but not limited to: menus, informational sheets, schedules, contracts, and invoices.

5. Manages donation inquiries, keeping track of all requests and coordinating with the respective internal teams to manage budget.

6. In charge of deposit and appropriation of funds for each given event.

7. Collects and analyze sales and costs of the department and trends in order to create future events.

8. Coordinates participation in off-site events including liaising between BOH and external coordinators of third-party festivals.

Minimum Qualifications

* 2-3 years experience in the restaurant/events industry

* Proficiency or fluency in Italian is a strong plus

* Strong decision-making and communication skills

* Extremely strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail-oriented at all times

* Must be able to prioritize and handle many projects at one time, with a strong work ethic and effective resource management


* High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred

* Passion for food and education is essential. Knowledge of wine and Italian gastronomy is required

Physical Effort: Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for periods of eight hours or more in length and have the ability to lift 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
