Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore/Einstein (PRIME) The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center have launched an ambitious Brain Sciences Initiative. As part of this large-scale expansion, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Dominick P. Purpura Department of Neuroscience have committed unprecedented support to the founding of a Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore/Einstein (PRIME) for Clinical and Translational Studies. PRIME will draw upon the exceptional basic science and clinical resources on campus as well as the participation of the vibrant and diverse communities in the Bronx, Westchester and Manhattan served by the medical school and the Montefiore Health System. Faculty affiliated with PRIME will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of clinical and translational research in Psychiatry at Einstein and Montefiore. Candidates with an MD, PhD, or MD PhD and a track record of excellence in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, autism and obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders, neurotherapeutics, psychiatric genetics, health disparities, multicultural mental health and related areas will be considered for translational and clinical research positions at the rank of Assistant to Full Professor. Highly competitive start-up packages are available. In some cases outstanding applicants will also be considered for leadership positions in PRIME as well as for joint appointments in Psychiatry and Neuroscience or other basic and clinical departments as relevant.
