About the Position:
Explore Schools is seeking a hardworking professional to become a Finance Associate at Exceed Charter School. Finance Associates must possess an "anything it takes" and proficiency in accounting to succeed in this role. The Finance Associate will provide support in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll, and financial management, in addition to various duties throughout the school. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a growing team. This position also provides an immense amount of room for growth, access to exciting projects, and the chance to make a difference in the lives of over 200 students and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executes on bookkeeping duties for all accounts receivable and payable, including preparing bank deposits
- Creates and maintains organizational systems for financial backup documentation
- Assists with financial audit and 990 preparation
- Provides data for quarterly, monthly and annual reports for various stakeholders
- Process bi-monthly payroll and staff reimbursements
- Helps ensure proper fiscal controls are in place
- Supports finance team with annual and mid-year budgets for Exceed Charter School
- Develops reports to facilitate analysis of organizational performance, develops financial and other metrics for management and board-level reports
- Manages student meals billing
- Oversees disbursement of metro cards and petty cash
- Ensure the safety of students at all times
- Assist with non-instructional supervision of students, as needed, such as arrival/dismissal, hallway monitoring, lunch & playground duty, or supervision of extracurricular activities
- Assist in moving students to proper locations during fire drills and sports or arts programs
- Provide main office coverage as needed
Qualifications:
- A willingness to make things happen and a passion for education
- The ability to execute and communicate in a direct and sensitive fashion
- Professional integrity, flexibility, and a reflective attitude
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, strongly preferred
- 1-3 years of work experience
