Title: Digital Communications Specialist Location: US-NY-New York Job Number: MAR00003307 Digital Communications Specialist The Digital Communications Specialist will be responsible for creating content via a variety of media to effectively tell the overall Thomson Reuters brand story on our corporate website and various social media channels. Core responsibilities: Supporting the Digital Managing Editor, the Digital Communications Specialist will work on creating multiple stories simultaneously for a wide range of internal customers. This role will also be responsible for working with all levels of management, will lead communication projects independently as well as work collaboratively within a team structure, assist in tracking and reporting impact of online communications, and managing web site and blog updates working with content owners and web design team. The Digital Communications Specialist will also assist the Digital Managing Editor in setting the strategy and editorial framework for our corporate digital assets. Skills and competencies: Identifies and solves a range of problems in straightforward situations and analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures. Responds to non-standard requests from internal customers and investigates with assistance from others as needed. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines. Exercises judgement and provides guidance on communication practices and processes and able to suggest improvements. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: * Superior oral and written communication skills. * Ability to build relationships on behalf of the digital editorial function as a trusted advisor with individuals from all levels within the organization. * Strong attention to detail. Ensures accuracy of communications and their delivery. * Experience with proof-reading and copy-editing. * Ability to work in a team environment across business areas and regions; build and maintain a network of internal and external relationships and sources. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain focused, objective and effective under pressure. * Ability to use social media channels. * Ability to plan and execute an interview. Video skills a plus. * Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. * Innovative - ability to research and propose effective solutions. * Skilled at planning, project management, time management and decision-making. * Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and working with html. Certifications / Education College / university degree preferably in the areas of communications, journalism or integrated marketing communications.
