Director of Business Operations and Strategic Initiatives Job ID: NS20121010-01623 Employer Name: PPNC - Planned Parenthood of Nassau County, Inc.Description:The Director of Business Operations and Strategic Initiatives will provide analytic and operational support to the CEO and Senior Management Team to ensure sustainable growth of PPNC’s client base, market share and revenue, assuming responsibility for analyzing and reporting about the revenue cycle and health center performance, and implementing new strategic initiatives.Essential functions:* In partnership with the CFO and the Senior Vice President for Patient Services, identify, develop, and report key metrics for health services performance and revenue cycle functions. Coordinate timely data dissemination and the monthly review process on health center productivity and financial metrics in conjunction with the CEO, finance personnel, health center managers, and other staff to ensure that metrics are continuously measured, monitored and improved. * In conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer, evaluate and implement tools to improve efficiency and productivity in the management of fee schedules, payer contracts, and accounts receivable.* Review, revise, and/or implement policies and procedures within the billing department to assure that the practice is maximizing collections, while remaining in compliance with federal/state and HIPAA privacy and security regulations, the terms of our payer contracts, the Office of the NYS Inspector General and other regulatory bodies.* Oversee the credentialing of medical providers, ensuring strong communication between HR and Patient Services.* Participate with the planning, implementation, administration and evaluation of the affiliate health services to maximize cost-effectiveness, revenue, and customer service.* Participate in the development of the Patient Services budget.* Create analytics that address strategic business concerns and decisions.* Manage the development and implementation of selected initiatives, and establish systems to track and document changes in business planning priorities over time. * Ensures the timely preparation and distribution of reports to the NYS DOH, PPFA, ARMS and other regulatory bodies.* Represent affiliate at meetings and conferences as needed. Attend Board of Directors meetings and staff Board committee meetings as necessary.* Other duties as assigned. Supervisor:Chief Financial Officer (as well as an association with the SR.VP of Patient Services)Status:Full-time, salaried, exemptQualifications:Education/Experience:B.S./B.A. (MBA preferred) plus a minimum of five to eight years’ experience in accounting or financial analysis with an emphasis on the revenue cycle in a health care setting, in addition to a proven track record in identifying and managing strategic initiatives. Demonstrated experience with electronic practice management systems, eCW a plus. Thorough understanding of third-party payer contracts, Medicaid reimbursement, provider enrollment and compliance. Experience with abortion services, business growth and health center management is highly desirable and outstanding communication skills are mandatory. Technology skills must include expert level Excel, Access, and other MSOffice programs. Certified Coder Certificate strongly desired.
