Retail Risk Systems Head Job Description: This position is accountable for directing and overseeing the execution of technology initiatives and programs pertaining to firm-wide delinquency managed exposures, primarily in Consumer Banking, Local Commercial Banking, and Private Banking. In executing this accountability, the Director assumes a stewardship role on behalf of clients dependant on technology systems, tools and databases in the discharging of their responsibilities. The clients in this role consist primarily of the independent risk organizations responsible for providing risk management oversight on delinquency managed exposures in Consumer Baking, Local Commercial Banking and Private Bank, and to a lesser extent, stakeholders in finance and business groups. High level & Strategic responsibilities of the Director include: In collaboration with senior risk information users, development and continuous improvement of Consumer, Commercial Banking and Private Banking global risk information strategies and technology initiatives, including the development and implementation of a retail Risk framework as well as a global reporting framework for all retail exposures Oversight of both tactical and strategic technology initiatives, generally consistent with global risk information strategies; Representation and championing the technology/systems interests of clients with information technology groups, and across functional areas. Tactical responsibilities include: Co-chairing the Risk Technology Operating Committee; Coordination of all aspects of client-side components of technology project management requirements, including gathering and synthesizing requirements, creation of requisite project documentation, and management of change requests; In collaboration with risk systems functional heads, exploitation of synergies between other/existing enterprise tools and software applications to maximize the utility of risk information systems, while minimizing time-to-market and development effort; Fostering open and constructive working relationships between Risk Architecture’s Systems & Technology group and various partner technology groups; Continuous communication of programs’ status to stakeholders; Approbation of project change requests, code migrations, and other tactical/operational matters relating to project management activities. Other responsibilities include: Acting as the overall Program Director and coordinating the Consumer Bank Risk Technology Steering Committee; Construction of strategic presentations outlining and explaining global risk information strategies; Management of budgets relating to assigned areas of responsibility; Human resource management of a team of risk, business, and technology experts; Oversight of special projects as assigned by senior managers; Qualifications: Solid knowledge of Consumer business in either Risk or Business At least 10 years experience managing risk information systems Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate several reports / projects at once, including working knowledge of SDLC principles and practices Expert in development and senior usage of portfolio credit risk MIS Ability to independently and effectively work across all levels of management and across functions to accomplish the mission Demonstrated strong leadership experience, especially in transitioning or challenged environments Excellent written and presentation skills Strong analytical and detail orientation MBA or Master’s degree in economics, finance, computer science, or other related disciplines
