We provide services to companies throughout their lifecycle from purchasing a company to investigating potential fraud.We are seeking qualified Associates to join theEconomic Consulting practice:The Deloitte FAS Economic Consulting practice seeks professionals to work in bringing economic concepts and statistical techniques to solve real-world business problems.Qualified applicants encompass the following characteristics:* Genuine interest in empirical economic research* Ability to work both independently as well as in team environments to solve complex problems* Strong attention to detail and ability to do careful, high quality work* Excellent computer programming skills* Experience with applied statistics and econometricsThe Economics Group works on both litigation and business consulting engagements:* Performing statistical analysis of employment and pay practices* Performing anti-trust, merger, and price discrimination analysis* Calculating damages related to various litigation and regulation including patent infringement, breach of contract, and securities* Providing expert economic testimony in a wide range of litigation cases* Analyzing business data and processes to help clients improve performance* Developing econometric models to forecast demand* Measuring the effects of prices on product sales and improving pricing strategies* Valuing real and intangible assetsThe Economics Group utilizes the following tools:* Analysis of variance* Regression models including limited dependent variable models, hazard models, fixed, and random effects models* Options and derivative securities pricing models* Sample design* Other complex data management and analysis procedures.
