Lead Business Analyst - New Capital Solutions (New York, NY)

The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for guiding and leading teams in the review and analysis of requirements and requests that come from areas of the business, operations and additional users of IT services. The Lead Business Analyst provides the link between business divisions and technology solution providers for all aspects of finding and maintaining IT solutions in cooperation with Architecture, Application Management and the Professional Services Unit (PSU). Lead Business Analysts focus on client relationship management and providing internal clients with accurate reporting of service level agreements, key performance indicators (KPIs) and operating level agreements with other areas in IT. Position is in Interest Rates business unit for a Lead Business Analyst. The group is undergoing an upgrade and is modernizing its Risk and Trade Capture systems. This role is for a business analyst who will be responsible for understanding the needs of the trading desks/ Middle Office and translating them into requirements and system specifications documents, of sufficient clarity and detail for the various development teams to implement the required Rates functionality ( Swaps, Caps/Floors, Swaptions, US Treasuries). Understanding of other businesses is a major plus. The successful candidate will have an understanding of the Interest Rate products across Credit and Rates and a successful record of working closely with sales and trading desks, Operations, Risk Management and Product Control to develop detailed requirements specifications. She/he will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a can-do approach to tasks. Main Duties: Work with Sales and Trading desks, Operations, Risk Management and Product Control to develop detailed requirements specifications. Communicate with Interest Rate, Fixed Income and other development teams to define and schedule system changes needed to support the Interest Rate Business. Relay requirements to Quantitative Analysis teams, interpret models create specifications for their incorporation into systems. Regular communication on progress and issues to business sponsors and technology management. Personal Requirements: 7-10 years at a major financial institution. 2+ years experience in requirements gathering and analysis. 2+ years exposure to front office/trading desk environments. 2+ years of analytical skills including understanding Trader Spread Sheets and model the changes in spread sheet as a part of analysis before passing down to development streams. Should have worked closely with Analytics understanding the Greeks and pricing of debt instruments Strong management and influencing skills. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, both with business customers and with project managers, senior team leads and business analysts. Motivated self starter. 3-5 years fixed income product knowledge. BA/BS/ MS from accredited institution required. Some mathematical background desirable
