Math for America (MƒA) is a nationally recognized nonprofit offering prestigious fellowships to math and science teachers in New York City public schools. MƒA's signature program, the Master Teacher Fellowship, has been nationally recognized by the President's Council of Advisors for Science and Technology as a model for improving math and science education. MfA's mission is to make teaching a viable, respected, and rewarding career choice for the best minds in math and science.

Job Overview: MƒA seeks a passionate and talented Recruitment Associate to play a key role on its outreach team. Reporting directly to the Head of Recruitment, the Recruitment Associate advances the recruitment program by executing large-scale outreach efforts including information sessions, events, and person-to-person initiatives. The Recruitment Associate serves as the point-person and liaison between potential applicants and the Admissions Office.

Job Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact with applicants interested in MfA Fellowships. Communicate MfA's mission, values, and program effectively
Develop and execute high-profile recruitment events. Improvise when necessary and find creative ways to meet ambitious attendance goals. Communicate MfA program details compellingly to teachers and school leaders
Provide a critical "on the ground" perspective to the Head of Recruitment and actively participate in the development of new and innovative recruiting strategies
Track applicant progress, and provide personalized follow-up to applicants from application creation to completion
Develop and maintain productive relationships with teachers in the MfA corps and utilize corps contacts to recruit new applicants
Establish contact and build relationships with key teachers and administrators outside of MfA to arrange recruitment visits in targeted schools
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and two to three years of work experience in the areas of recruiting, admissions, events, community-organizing, or outreach. Interest in mathematics, science, or education a plus.
