TEMPORARY DISASTER RELIEF CASE MANAGERS FOR THOSE DISPLACED BY HURRICANE SANDY - SCO FAMILY OF

SCO IS LOOKING FOR WELL- QUALIFIED Case Managers will provide extensive case management services for families and individuals displaced by Hurricane Sandy and currently living in hotels in the NYC area.

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct intake and triage needs of displaced individuals and families to assess physical and mental health

- Provide information and referrals for individuals and families to ensure their financial, physical, mental, emotional, etc. needs are being met.

- Provide on-going counseling

- Provide crisis intervention if necessary

- Collect and assist in recording demographic information

- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QULIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Education/Degree: MSW or related degree required
  • Years of Experience: 2+
  • Case management experience, 2+ years
  • Commitment to the mission and programs of SCO Family of Services
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change
  • Strong sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics present among staff and clients within agency
  • Diligent; Strong time management skills
  • Be a team player
  • Flexible
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • *Bilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply
