As a multifaceted not-for-profit, Henry Street provides innovative social services, arts programs and healthcare services from 17 locations throughout the Lower East Side. Building upon its legacy for innovation and effective programming, Henry Street has grown to offer more than 50 different programs, currently making it one of the most comprehensive settlement house in New York City, as well as one of the City's largest social service agencies. Henry Street is governed by a 45-member Board of Directors and is supported by government grants and contracts, as well as foundation, corporate and individual support.

The Health and Wellness Cluster is a $10M division which provides a wide array of personalized behavioral health services to individuals coping with the challenges brought on by emotional problems and mental illness. A New Youth State certified Article 31 mental health facility and approved Article 28 primary health care facility, this division delivers outpatient mental health services, PROS, crisis services, HIV family mental health services, vocational rehabilitation, parent education, supportive employment, case management, screenings for entitlement benefits, health care navigator program and Senior Services. Services are provided by culturally competent staff who can communicate to our clients who need to communicate in Chinese and Spanish as well as English. These programs are designed to help individuals attain their fullest potential in an environment that values respect, dignity, caring and integrity.

Qualifications:

BA with two (2) years of medical office experience or two (2) years of college with five (5) years of medical office experience in addition to management experience
Highly organized, exceptional time management ability, and the ability to perform multiple tasks at one time
Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with EMR implementation and workflow analysis
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
Knowledge of eClinicalWorks and/or electronic medical records a plus
Bi-lingual ( English/ Spanish or English/ Chinese) a plus
Responsibilities:

Assist with and coordinate the overall operation and strategic planning of the clinical and administrative functions
Organize clinical and business staff in the development of policies, procedures, programs, and protocols, and systems to provide an efficient and accurate patient encounter that will improve the organization's effectiveness, and the quality of patient outcomes
Monitor financial performance on a monthly basis, oversee billing meetings, and work closely with billing department to ensure optimal reimbursement levels
Work in conjunction with the Billing Manager to review and negotiate insurance contracts and fee schedules periodically, and liaise with insurance provider relations representatives
Employee performance management by identifying training needs of staff and completing performance evaluations
Oversee the development of new programs and healthcare initiatives to ensure growth and sustainability this includes, but is not limited to, keeping abreast of Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards
Enforce compliance policies, and prepare for Department of Health audits in accordance with New York State Public Health Law this includes, but is not limited to, maintaining personnel files for healthcare professionals and ancillary staff
Liaise with vendor account managers including eClinicalWorks to introduce new features and products crucial to clinic operations
Monitor "Meaningful Use" measures and regular reports on open encounters
Oversee and assist billing department in ICD-10 implementation
Meet with other staff to facilitate interdepartmental referrals
Handle petty cash for supplies and/or for patient transportation
Respond to mail and faxes as necessary
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
