Newborn Nursery Hospitalist

Hospitalist will manage the clinical care of patients assigned to the Newborn Service through the entire continuum of hospital care, including, but not limited to, admission to the NBN, managing patient care or need for further evaluation by the Neonatologist, various specialists and discharge of the newborns with anticipatory guidance provided to the family.

Interact closely with the department as well as the outpatient pediatrician who will be caring for the newborn upon discharge. Consult with appropriate specialists as needed. Work collaboratively with, but not limited to, newborn nursery staff, other physicians, care management, social work, nursing, mid-level staff and all other hospital employees.


Hold a currently valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New York and current registration with the New York State Education Department.

Maintain board certification or board admissibility in pediatrics

Maintain in good standing your enrollment as a participating provider in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

Apply for, granted and maintain, in good standing, privileges on the Medical Staff of the Hospital.

Maintain, in good standing, state and federal registration to prescribe and dispense controlled substances.
