It partners with stakeholders from around the state and across the nation to promote innovation, provide the support, and establish the policies necessary to advance HIT in New York State.NYeC works to ensure that its mission of statewide HIT implementation is successful through a specific focus on four key areas: Education, Public and Private Collaboration, The Construction of a Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), and Technical and Adoption Services to help providers adopt electronic health records in their practices.Job Description & Experience:NYeC has initiated several large IT projects towards the development of SHIN-NY that require coordination and planning between internal stakeholders (NYeC leadership, technical team, operations team, policy team, etc.) as well as external stakeholders (Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), hospitals, providers, etc.) in the healthcare community. NYeC is seeking three (3) Project Managers to assist with the project coordination activities related to these IT projects. The Project Managers will report to the Program Director for SHIN-NY and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities for this position include:- Conduct planning and analysis to onboard new projects.- Work with stakeholders to understand the business, technical and operational needs for the IT projects.- Participate in policy, technical, and operational discussions to better understand the priorities and related project management tasks.- Lead/facilitate discussions related to project planning, milestones tracking, and other project related implementation considerations.- Establish project milestones, work breakdown structures, resource requirements, and priorities for the assigned projects.- Document project objectives, goals, scope, approach, and potential costs and track them to completion.- Monitor/provide input on the progress of projects through the planning, engineering, development, testing, training, pilot, and implementation phases.- Prepare high quality reports to provide update on project progress including critical path items, decisions required, issues, risks, constraints, etc.- Assist with drafting vendor solicitations for consultant/vendor needs for IT projects.- Oversee/monitor the work of consultants/vendors assigned to the IT projects.Experience and Skills:- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related major preferred.- PMP certification preferred.- 3-5 years of IT project management experience required, healthcare experience preferred.- Hands on experience in managing projects utilizing the product development lifecycle or a systems development lifecycle.- Good working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Clarity, etc.)- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of stakeholders (including business, policy, technical, and operational stakeholders, NYeC leadership, external stakeholders, team members, etc.)- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with tight deadlines.- Ability to prioritize tasks and activities effectively to ensure no deadlines are missed.- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and writing skills.- Excellent people, teamwork, and management skills to interact with senior staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third party partners.NYeC is located in the offices of, and contracts for back-office services with, another nonprofit, Public Health Solutions.
