Jr. Systems Engineer - HireFinders (New York, NY)

Duties & Responsibilities: • The Systems Engineer will be integral to the team which is responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability, administration and maintenance of the company’s server systems and infrastructure. • Responsibilities will include building, configuring, installing, managing and monitoring datacenter IT infrastructure hardware and software. • Candidates must be able to work independently within the assigned priorities and project schedules. • Candidates will be required to troubleshoot and monitor systems activities and utilization and work with vendor Technical Support engineers to resolve issues. • Candidate will be responsible for day to day data backup/restore, Level 3 problem resolution and managing tickets within an Enterprise ticketing system. • Candidate should have experience creating/updating/maintaining technical documentation. • Candidates must be able to participate in after-hours and weekend support, as needed. Skills & Education Requirements: • 2+ years experience required working as a Systems Engineer or a Systems Administrator in a Microsoft networking environment • College Degree in Information Technology or a related technical field. • Candidate must be able to maintain and administer Windows 2003/Windows 2008 Server infrastructure through Full System Life Cycle including installation and configuration of OS, patching and upgrading. • Must demonstrate proficiency in the following technologies: o Active Directory design, administration, scripting, maintenance and troubleshooting; o Windows PowerShell o MS Exchange 2007 & 2010 management, Blackberry Enterprise Server and Good for Enterprise; o Windows advanced technologies such as Clustering, NLB, and DFS; o Citrix XenApp; o VMware ESX/vSphere 4 & 5; o HP Proliant Server and Storage systems; o TCP/IP Networking; • A current Microsoft server certification is required. o Experience with a wide range of Microsoft and third party products including MS SQL Server, IIS, WSUS, SharePoint, McAfee Policy Orchestrator, Backup Exec, VDI Technologies, EAS or equivalent archiving solution, Cisco networking including IPT/UC technologies, FC/iSCSI Storage Area Networks and Hardware Load Balancing technologies are a plus.
