Position Description:

Position Summary:
As a Senior Consultant you will be responsible for leading key initiatives across AIG Consumer Insurance. You may manage several key project initiatives or participate in a full time assignment in a functional business area. You may perform many functions including Strategy Development, Research and Analysis, Process Reviews and Redesign, implementing improvements and change; along with providing Consulting and Project Management services to senior leaders across the organization.

Organizational Structure:
The CMD Group is a Shared Service within AIG Consumer Insurance. The position is located in Houston, TX (other locations include New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA) but may also serve other company locations. The CMD group is comprised of 10 staff positions. The typical career path within CMD is Senior Consultant to Managing Consultant to Program Manager. Consultants must seek and place into leadership or key staff positions outside of the CMD group and in the organization after 3-4 years in the department. There are over 30 former consultants in various roles in the organization from Director to Executive levels.

• The Strategic Goal is to develop future leadership talent for AIG Consumer Insurance. The key component is to identify and attract new talent into the organization, provide broad exposure to the organization and knowledge depth through assignments and provide opportunities to network and build relationships.
• The Operational goal is to provide professional skilled resources to the organization to execute key initiatives which enhance revenue, create operational efficiency, reduce cost and support creativity and innovation.

Performance Objectives:
• Consulting, Strategy, Research and Analysis. Provide general analytical and business consulting support for key initiatives. Conduct and/or obtain market research and competitive information and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations or strategies.
• Project Management. Coordinate and/or lead cross-functional and key initiatives in support of company strategic goals. Project activities may include: Project initiation – project scope definition and project design approach; Project administration – development, planning, organizing and controlling project plans through implementation and maintenance including project documentation; Facilitation and/or participation on relevant project teams; Monitor project status, analysis of impact of changes and appropriate plan modifications.
• Business Process Review and Redesign. Identify and document current business processes and/or system workflows. Identify and prioritize business requirements, develop cost/benefit analysis and business cases.
• Monitor internal and external environments for issues/trends that affect project analysis. Implement innovative and creative solutions that streamline processes.

Position Requirements:

Job Requirements: The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
• Master’s degree (MBA preferred) and 5 years professional experience or bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience
• Professional experience in one or more of the following areas desired: financial services industry, internal audit, operations research/management, industrial engineering, business development, business management, marketing, consulting and project management
• Record of increasing responsibilities and demonstrated leadership skills
• Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities and manage multiple projects involving all levels and across departments and multiple locations
• Excellent communication skills – oral, written presentation and business writing
• Analytical aptitude – research, analyze, synthesize and recommend and implement innovative and creative solutions
• Excellent interpersonal skills – easily build relationships, team build and network across departments and with all levels in the organization.
• US or permanent residency required including U.S. work experience
• Ability to travel, may be up to 25%
